The following is a list of underwriters covering the range of our health benefits and insurance products and services:

Group Health Benefits

Insured group health, dental and out of country travel benefits are underwritten by PBC Health Benefits Society (Pacific Blue Cross).

Insured group life, disability and accidental death & dismemberment coverage is underwritten by Blue Cross Life Insurance Company of Canada (Blue Cross Life).

Some benefit plans are managed by Pacific Blue Cross on an Administration Services Only (ASO) basis. For details on the underwriter of these plans, please contact the plan administrator directly.

Personal Health Insurance and Travel Medical Insurance

Health, dental and travel insurance plans purchased by individuals are underwritten by PBC Health Benefits Society (Pacific Blue Cross). Benefits for Air Flight Accident and AD&D included in these plans are underwritten by Blue Cross Life Insurance Company of Canada (Blue Cross Life).

Trip Protection Insurance

Individually purchased policies for travel cancellation, interruption, airline delays and baggage loss, damage or delay are underwritten by The Canassurance Insurance Company Inc. (Blue Cross Canassurance).

Air Flight Accident benefit and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance

Individually purchased travel coverage against any accident you may encounter while on a licensed commercial flight is underwritten by Blue Cross Life Insurance Company of Canada (Blue Cross Life).

Critical Illness Insurance

Individually purchased financial coverage in the event of a critical illness diagnosis is underwritten by Blue Cross Life Insurance Company of Canada (Blue Cross Life). 

Individual Life Insurance

Individually purchased term life insurance and any additional riders added to your policy are underwritten by Assumption Mutual Life Insurance Company (Assumption Life).
