Text to grant a child’s wish

This Children’s Wish Month, give the gift of happiness. Text BLUEWISH to 80100 and help grant a dream wish to a child with a serious illness.

Before his cancer diagnosis, Marko’s dream was to be a goalie in the National Hockey League. Marko was diagnosed at 8 years old with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). He fought long and hard through chemotherapy and surgery. He is now 16, back on the ice and cancer free. With the help of Children’s Wish Foundation, Marko and his family are about to take off for the vacation of a lifetime.

Pacific Blue Cross is lending its support to a new campaign to help more children and youth with life-altering illnesses experience their dreams. Until March 31, text BLUEWISH to 80100 to send $5 to Children’s Wish Foundation. The amount will appear on your next phone bill.

For 27 years, Blue Cross organizations have provided travel health insurance to 12,500 Canadian children like Marko, so they can travel without fear of costly health setbacks. In British Columbia, Pacific Blue Cross also gives volunteer and funding support to help grant wishes to local children.

Pacific Blue Cross chief executive Jan K. Grude is the Chair of Children’s Wish Foundation in British Columbia and national Vice-Chair. “The Foundation has granted wishes to thousands of children over the past 30 years,” says Grude. “From the parents and extended families, to caregivers and communities, each wish granted is magnified by the happiness it brings to so many people.”
