A first of its kind partnership to actively improve healthcare for women

In honour of Mother’s Day, Pacific Blue Cross is excited to announce a new pillar partnership with BC Women’s Hospital Foundation. We’re joining forces to play a more active role in improving healthcare for women in BC, and beyond.

“By supporting women’s health, from the point of care to the workplace, we’re helping our Members get the care they deserve, and helping our clients reduce absenteeism and improve overall engagement” says John Crawford, President and CEO, Pacific Blue Cross. “Providing a positive and healthy environment for all employees is also key to the recruitment and retention of top talent.”

Did you know that, historically, the male body has served as the baseline for all health research, education and practice? At Pacific Blue Cross, it is our mission to improve health and wellbeing for all British Columbians. Together with BC Women’s Hospital Foundation, we will work to address this health inequality by ensuring women of all ages and life stages have access to the highest quality healthcare when, where and how they need it.

In the fall of 2019, we will be releasing an official report on the state of women’s health in British Columbia which looks at their experiences in accessing healthcare services in BC.

Stay tuned for more news about this exciting partnership.
