For 1.5 million British Columbians, their membership with Pacific Blue Cross helps to provide the best possible healthcare in BC.

Among other benefits, it helps them recover from illness, or purchase medication and healthcare services to help prevent one. Pacific Blue Cross is BC’s number-one health benefits provider, employing 700 people who care about the well-being of our members.

Health, Wellbeing and the Continuum of Care

Our role as a benefits provider is part of a continuum of care that has the overarching goal of supporting healthy Members. We pay attention to what is happening in healthcare, and to insights and technology that can help on the journey to better health. For instance, today, Pacific Blue Cross is presenting the Work + Wellness Forum with the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade. We support investments in employee wellbeing not only because it is the right thing to do, but also because it fosters higher productivity, increases retention, decreases absenteeism and lowers healthcare costs—a win-win for businesses and employees alike.

We help Plan Sponsors take care of their employees, so they can take care of the business. Providing coverage and support that meets Members where they are on their individual health journey requires unique and flexible solutions. Many pieces make up the picture of health, which is why we focus on providing access to effective preventative and pro-active care. We want Members to feel empowered in their own health management by providing services like health and wellness programs, extended health care and dental benefits, travel insurance, critical illness insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage (including return to work programs), and overall program support from the entire Pacific Blue Cross team.

We are constantly looking for new ways to innovate and create a better, more streamlined experience. Today we are excited to announce the launch of our new website. Visit pac.bluecross.ca to see our recent updates, including custom pages for Members, Care Providers, Plan Sponsors and Advisors. We have also recently relaunched a popular app (130,000 downloads and counting) through which our members can submit claims by simply taking a photo of their healthcare receipts and can receive reimbursement as quickly as 24 hours later. Our goal is to offer our members easy access to the benefits that keep them healthy.
