In celebration of World Wish Day, Blue Cross is donating $100,000 to Make-A-Wish Canada to help grant more travel wishes to children living with critical illnesses.
From April 28 to May 28, 2026, residents of Canada who purchase Blue Cross travel insurance can enter a national Wish Trip Giveaway for a chance to win $10,000 toward their next trip. The campaign also encourages donations to Make-A-Wish Canada to help bring more wishes to life.
Helping make travel possible for every child
For many families, travel can feel out of reach. Children with complex medical needs are often unable to access traditional travel insurance due to pre-existing conditions, creating additional stress and uncertainty during an already difficult time.
Pacific Blue Cross helps remove that barrier through its longstanding partnership with Make-A-Wish Canada by providing comprehensive, specialized travel coverage for wish families. This includes 24/7 assistance, access to a global network of healthcare providers, and expert medical support so families can travel with confidence and peace of mind.
We are removing barriers so families can focus on what matters most.
“At Pacific Blue Cross, we believe every child deserves the chance to experience the joy and wonder of travel. Through our partnership with Make-A-Wish Canada, we’re helping remove barriers so families can focus on what matters most: being together and creating meaningful moments,” said Sarah Hoffman, President and CEO, Pacific Blue Cross. “These wishes can have a lasting impact on a child’s well-being, offering hope, strength, and a sense of possibility during incredibly challenging times.”
Travel wishes offer more than a change of scenery. They provide children and their families with a meaningful escape from the realities of treatment, helping to build confidence, spark joy, and create lasting memories. According to Make-A-Wish Canada, these experiences can positively impact a child’s emotional, physical, and mental well-being throughout their care journey.
A partnership built on impact
Pacific Blue Cross has supported Make-A-Wish Canada for nearly four decades, helping bring over 30,000 travel wishes to life and providing travel insurance coverage for more than 130,000 family members across Canada. Travel remains central to wish experiences, representing more than 70% of all wishes granted each year. Partnerships like this help ensure families can focus on what matters most: spending time together and creating meaningful moments.
From April 28 to May 28, residents of Canada who purchase Blue Cross travel insurance can enter the Wish Trip Giveaway and support Make-A-Wish Canada in granting more life-changing wishes.
