Ken Martin joined Pacific Blue Cross / BC Life in January 2003 as President and Chief Executive Officer. Ken's accessible leadership style has motivated and inspired Pacific Blue Cross' people through major transformation, while the organization experienced substantial growth, strengthening its position as British Columbia's leading provider of cost-effective health, dental, life, disability and travel coverage.

Ken has enjoyed a successful career centered on employee benefits consulting. Prior to joining Pacific Blue Cross, he was the US Administration Practice Leader for Mercer HR Consulting. His career includes five years as the North American CEO of Sedgwick Noble Lowndes and four years as President and CEO of Sedgwick Canada Limited, where he also served on the Board as a member of Sedgwick Inc.'s Executive, Audit and Investment committees. Ken has provided leadership in several employee benefits consulting positions since beginning his career in 1971 with Aetna Canada.

Ken actively lends his leadership and experience to various organizations and charities at the Board level. He currently serves as Vice-Chair of The Vancouver Board of Trade, Vice-Chair of the Board's Community Safety Task Force and is a member of the Board's Health Care Task Force. As a director of the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia, Ken is the Chair of ICBC's HR Committee, and a member of ICBC's Investment and Transformation Committees.

Ken is a director of Ovarian Cancer Canada and a member of the Council of Management of the International Federation of Health Plans. He is also the past president of the Canadian Association of Blue Cross Plans and past chair of the Western Conference of Prepaid Medical Plans Board of Trustees.

Ken is a graduate and permanent member of the Honour Society of the Richard Ivey School of Business Administration at the University of Western Ontario. In 2006, he received the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Cindy Bratkowski, Senior Vice President, Information Technology and Client Services - Pacific Blue Cross

Cindy Bratkowski is Pacific Blue Cross' Sr. Vice President, Information Technology and Client Services. In Cindy's dual role, she is responsible for both technological and business process improvement initiatives at Pacific Blue Cross/ BC Life. Cindy's leadership has empowered people to push beyond the ordinary, resulting in superior service for Pacific Blue Cross members and awards of excellence in customer service for both the organization and various contact centre representatives.

Cindy trained as a registered nurse before moving to British Columbia to major in Psychology and Communications at Simon Fraser University. For over 25 years Cindy has been helping organizations in various industries including newspaper, tourism and insurance, deliver exceptional service.

Cindy is past President of the BC Contact Centre Association, which provides networking and educational programs to its members; she is a member of the BCIT Contact Centre Advisory Council; Treasurer on the board of the CIO Association of Canada; and a founding board member of the Community Against Preventable Injuries.

For more than 20 years as Sr. Vice-President, Financial Services of Pacific Blue Cross / BC Life, John Crawford has been instrumental in continuously improving financial systems and business processes ensuring operational efficiency that enables Pacific Blue Cross / BC Life to serve the health care needs of British Columbians.

Prior to joining Pacific Blue Cross, John was a Senior Manager with Deloitte and a Controller in industry in Prince George. John's community involvement includes his work on the Credit Union and Insurance Fund Raising Committee and his role as Master Tally for the British Columbia Children's Hospital Miracle Weekend Telethon for over 23 years. John's passion for the BC Children's Hospital Foundation has spilled over to the hearts and minds of Pacific Blue Cross employees. John's ability to inspire and mobilize the people around him has resulted in an additional corporate contribution in excess of $500,000 over the years. John is also a board member of Burnaby Family Life and the F.I.T.T. Cardiac Association.

John was educated in Scotland and is a Chartered Accountant credentialed by the Institutes of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and British Columbia respectively. He is also an elected council member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia, a Certified Fraud Examiner and member of Canadian Pension & Benefits Institute.

Anne Kinvig, Senior Vice President, Human Resources - Pacific Blue Cross

Anne Kinvig is an accomplished leader with a keen understanding of corporate vision and culture. Her insight into market conditions and opportunities coupled with her dedication to building capable teams makes her an effective leader with a history of achieving significant business growth. Before becoming Chief Operating Officer of both Pacific Blue Cross / BC Life, her leadership of BC Life saw profitability increase over 50% in recent years.

Anne's background in human resources provides her a deep understanding and working knowledge of benefit plans from both the provider and employer perspective. She is able to look at issues enterprise wide and then provide a pragmatic approach to decision making. This not only demonstrates Anne's understanding of the business, but shows the qualities that enable her to provide sensible oversight and direction to Pacific Blue Cross' business operations.

Anne graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Industrial Relations and has been a senior leader at Pacific Blue Cross/BC Life for over a decade. Anne is a mentee of Women On Board, an organization promoting a more competitive corporate Canada by linking companies to a network of skilled and experienced women to serve on boards. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Pacific Salmon Foundation since 2006. She is also a member of the Vancouver Board of Trade and the BC Human Resources Association. In 2011, she received the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Leza Muir, Senior Vice President, Claims Services - Pacific Blue Cross

With over 30 years in the industry, Leza Muir has become one of the most knowledgeable resources on private and public health care in Canada. Leza is committed to exploring better ways to serve the health needs of Canadians through cost-effective health care management. This includes researching and implementing various business and technological strategies that complement and enhance the delivery of health care solutions from the private payer perspective.

Leza's wealth of knowledge comes from devoting her entire career to health care. Starting from within the ranks of the Medical Services Association, Leza has provided strategic innovation and direction in several positions, continually improving the patient experience throughout her rise to lead Pacific Blue Cross' Health and Dental Claims division.

Leza holds positions on various national and provincial committees, including the Canadian Blue Cross National Benefits and Management Claims Committee, the National Electronic Claims Standards Executive Steering Committee and the British Columbia Chronic Disease Management (CDM/QI) Task Force. Leza's community work includes her position as Vice Chair of the Burnaby Board of Trade and as a director for Burnaby Family Life.

Morris Nord, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Client Development - Pacific Blue Cross

As Sr. Vice-President, Marketing and Client Development for Pacific Blue Cross / BC Life, Morris Nord oversees the development and implementation of marketing, business and product development strategies for more than 1.5 million British Columbians through employee group plans and through individual plans for those who do not have coverage with their employer.

Morris has a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Ohio State University and a designation from the LIMRA Leadership Institute Fellowship Program. He has been a senior leader at Pacific Blue Cross/BC Life for the past 6 years. Previously, Morris was Regional Vice-President at Sun Life Financial and has held other senior marketing positions in the insurance industry in Calgary and Toronto.

Morris holds positions on various committees such as the Canadian Blue Cross National Marketing Committee and the External Operations Committee for the Western Conference of Prepaid Medical Plans. His community work includes his position on the board of the Arts Club Theatre Company as Treasurer and as a member of the City of Vancouver's Creative City Task Force. Morris received the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors in 2008.

Jean Wong, Vice President, Human Resources, CHRP - Pacific Blue Cross

As Pacific Blue Cross’ Vice President, Human Resources, Jean Wong provides leadership to all facets of Human Resources including organizational development, labour relations, and recruiting.

Jean has over 25 years of experience in both the public and private sector. In that time she has developed and implemented many leading human resources policies, practices and initiatives that help transform organizations with minimal disruption to both employees and services. Much of her success comes from her ability to build working partnerships with management teams, employees and union representatives.

Jean has a Bachelors degree in Commerce from the University of British Columbia and a designation from the Certified Human Resources Profession. Jean previously held HR leadership positions with BC Hydro and Retirement Concepts, BC’s largest developer and operator of retirement communities.

In the community, Jean is a mentor with the Human Resources Management Association and has been a Sun Run Leader for over 5 years.
