Supporting First Nations Health Authority Clients Affected by Wildfires

Friday, Aug 6, 2021

First Nation communities across British Columbia continue to be impacted by wildfires. In some instances, individuals have very little time to evacuate their homes having to leave behind important medications or medical supplies.

The summer wildfires that have spread across British Columbia have been devastating for so many in our province, including for many First Nations communities.

As a result, the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) is providing additional support services to FNHA clients that have been affected by the fires. As a partner in the delivery of health and dental benefits with FNHA, we are helping spread the word about these additional support services.

Services include a new weekend toll-free support line for FNHA clients who have been evacuated due to wildfires and the replacement of medical supplies and equipment that have been lost because of the wildfires.

We encourage you to review the FNHA announcement for full details on supports available to FNHA clients affected by the wildfires. You can also find more information on the FNHA website.
