DA Townley welcomes Naveen Kapahi as incoming president

DA Townley president Harvey Mason today announced his decision to retire in December 2016. Pacific Blue Cross has named Naveen Kapahi as senior vice president of DA Townley effective February 1, until he transitions to the role of president when Mason retires.

DA Townley is the largest third party benefits administrator in Western Canada and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pacific Blue Cross. “I have had the pleasure of leading an exceptional team for the past 26 years,” says Mason. “Naveen is an accomplished leader and strategic thinker, and the ideal person to lead DA Townley as we grow to meet the evolving needs of our clients.”

Kapahi brings more than 30 years of experience in actuarial consulting, plan design, pension benefits, funding and investment policy to his new role. He has held senior leadership positions at global consulting firms Mercer and Aon Hewitt and is past president of the Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute. Kapahi has worked with diverse public and private sector clients, including multi-employer and jointly-trusteed pension and benefit trusts. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Simon Fraser University.

Says Kapahi, “I am honoured and excited to lead such a well-respected organization. I look forward to building on the excellent reputation that has made DA Townley number one in its field.”

“Mason has made great contributions to the advancement of third party administration in British Columbia and across Canada,” says Pacific Blue Cross president and chief executive Jan K. Grude. “I sincerely thank Harvey for what he has accomplished, and look forward to welcoming Naveen to this important leadership role. Naveen’s experience in global consulting is a great asset that will further our ability to deliver world-class results to our growing client base.”

D.A. Townley is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pacific Blue Cross and is Western Canada’s largest third party employee benefits administrator.
