Pacific Blue Cross recently presented the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation with a grant of $10,000 toward its new and expanded Perinatal Unit.

The Perinatal Unit, which now occupies the 4th floor of KGH’s new Interior Heart & Surgical Centre, provides improved care and safety for expectant mothers and premature infants. It features an expanded space, single-patient post-partum rooms and an upgraded Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

On August 24, Pacific Blue Cross Health Foundation board member Christine Johnson visited Kelowna General Hospital for a tour of the new unit. “I was thoroughly impressed with the new unit and the equipment was state-of-the-art,” said Johnson. “As a mother myself, I truly appreciated the care and effort the team took when planning the space.”

Pacific Blue Cross is BC’s number one health benefits provider, serving 1 in 3 British Columbians, and is guided by a mission to improve health and well-being in BC. Through its Health Foundation, Pacific Blue Cross provides grants to not-for-profit organizations across the province working to improve health outcomes.
