These teams are responsible for managing critical information about our customers
including employer groups and individual members. They keep our business organized
as they set up new groups and renew existing ones, create and update member files
with additions and cancellations, issue Blue Cross identification cards and ensure
benefit plan contracts are amended and always up-to-date. They also facilitate orders
for member booklets and group supplies.
Pacific Blue Cross and BC Life combined process over 18.5 million health, dental,
life and disability claims each year. With a keen attention to detail, our people
gain an intimate understanding of health care and how different benefit plans work
to provide timely and accurate reimbursement for members covered under Pacific Blue
Cross policies. Our disability claims specialists in BC Life partner with claimants,
employers and rehabilitation professionals to ensure a quick and safe return to
work for people in recovery.

our representatives deliver friendly, knowledgeable service, providing answers to
questions about benefit coverage that are easy to understand. We provide the training

This team of accomplished financial professionals is responsible for the fiscal
health of the organization. They work on financial reporting, reconciling financial
data, facilitating credits and collections, troubleshooting client account issues,
processing payroll and ensuring our partners are compensated through commissions.
They work with every area of the business to manage the budget and ensure the financial
sustainability of Pacific Blue Cross / BC Life.
In Human Resources the goal is to create the optimal employee experience while meeting
our business needs. This team provides expertise in recruitment, succession planning,
career development, orientation and training, compensation and benefits, labour
relations, occupational health and safety, and employment equity.
Our learning and development team provides a menu of training programs and learning
opportunities, designed to build the capabilities of our employees, while our communications
team ensures employees are informed about the company and have access to information.
They also work closely with marketing to develop external communications for Pacific
Blue Cross / BC Life that keeps our customers informed of our products and services
and changes affecting benefit plans.

Marketing and Client Development
This highly professional team brings superior service into every aspect of the client
relationship. Responsible for growing and maintaining Pacific Blue Cross' and BC
Life's market position, they work closely with plan advisors and brokers to understand
how customer needs are changing and foster consultative selling opportunities that
deliver cost-effective benefit plans. Working with our partners, they develop strong
relationships with individual consumers as well as British Columbia's many employers
The life of a health claim begins and ends here. A vital component of the organization,
Office Services includes the mailroom and document scanning. This team ensures claims
and other important documents received at Pacific Blue Cross / BC Life move quickly
and efficiently through the organization. They also ensure the safe delivery of
reimbursement cheques and other mail to our members. Office Services is great place

Underwriting and Actuarial Services
Underwriters and Actuaries are known for their interest in numbers, analytical abilities
and their attention to detail. Where Actuaries analyze the financial consequences
of risk associated with the business, our underwriting team determines the risk
factors that should be applied to a particular client or group so that the appropriate
rates can be applied. In addition to providing quotes for our customers, these teams
provide reporting to help understand how benefit plans are being used. This enables
Pacific Blue Cross / BC Life, our clients and our partners to make critical decisions
about allocating benefit plan dollars to protect the health of British Columbians.
